Thoughts on My Mind | Present & Future | 2010

People think I'm weird lets be honest here. People say I'm a jerk, they say I overreact. The thing is... ha. I'm fourteen who's trying to succeed now. Not later, not anytime after I go to college and graduate and shit like that. The thing is some people don't understand the concept of of using your past for your future. I was just listening to Diggy's mixtape thinking it was going to be crap. And you know what it wasn't. Why doubt a kid that is on grind going hard for his dreams like me? I mean I'm not saying I want to be like him but, it's a perfect example of my state of mind.

I know I'm going to be the best. So when people ask why I'm so weird I say I'm on another planet meaning when your thinking about now and living for the now "cause your only fourteen years," I'm thinking "Wow, they really don't understand that time is NEVER GOING TO STOP. It never will. That's why when your talking about me to your friends having all the fun in the world, I'm on a different planet pursuing my dreams of becoming the youngest mogul in the game living on top while all of the other kids look at me like "how the hell did he do that?" For all the family that have been there for me, I'll always still be here posting my life and my progress to my dreams. I'm just saying where I am right now. And trust me, fame is caliing 2010 is the year family. Fame. It's around the corner.

Flashback Post | COMPLEX Magazine Interview's Emile on the Making of KiD CuDi's Album

Complex: For “Cudi Zone,” I remember Cudi saying he had the first verse done, and then eventually finished the second verse at a later time.
Emile: He had the verse forever and me and [Plain] Pat were like “’Cudi Zone,’ what’s up with it?” and Cudi would just blow it off. So me and Pat were just like, fuck man, this record is so dope but it went on so long that I started to wonder if this monster of a record was going to be on the shelf, just like if it was ever going to get finished. A long time went by, and he just wasn’t going to force it. Cudi doesn’t force his stuff when he works, it’s either going to happen or it’s not going to happen. Eventually one day, it was real nonchalant, months and months after we had this record and he was just like, “Oh yeah, I got the ‘Cudi Zone’ verse.” I almost didn’t believe him, I was like, word? Not only did he come in forever after we did the first verse but he did the second verse and it sounded like he did it the exact same day he did the first verse. The tone was cool, everything was cool about it. It was like OK, shit we’re done. Sweet.

Complex: Now how much of a time span went on between the first verse and the second?
Emile: Man…we did “Cudi Zone” and “Solo Dolo” I think back-to-back in like two days. It had to have been six months, I don’t know exactly. It was a while, I’m going to guess between four and six months.

This Ish Was All I Knew

The big man and Wheelchair Jimmy just came out with the visuals with a new single named "Say Something," I remember hearing this song on the radio and just automatically noticing those the up and down of the synths. The beat is pretty Timbaland I have to say though that the synths are dope, and Drake's verse is just ok, nothing special. But, I have heard better production wise from Timbo so in the end I think it calls for a TDK rating. This conclusion is taking the beat, the lyrics, and the orginality into play. My "that downtown kiid" song rating conclusion for this song: 8|10, based on the fact that Drake did have a impressive hook that's actually catchy and even has meaning which I admit is hard to find now a days in and out of the radio. Also the beat I appluad, but unfortunatley the verses not so much. So it's above average just not stellar.

90210

So on Friday I was listening to Wale's album for the first time, and nothing really stuck out to me at first to be honest but, this song out of the whole album is definatley in the Top 5 for best songs on Attention Deficit. The story might be a little depressing but it really is a strong track including really good production by Mark Ronson and some other guy, haha. Enjoy.

Hustler For Life

Photobucket

When I hear people talk complain about how much they have to do in their lives, and how they want to change that. I don't really mind, sometimes I might not even care. But when it comes to the people who don't complain and do what they got to do without getting any recognition... that's what get me upset at times. Now you see I'm not saying that Lil Wayne is all godly, but I am saying his work ethic amazes me. When I was searching for a photo on Flickr for a new post, I found this and the subline had a comment from the photographer who said "This was at a videoshoot and between shots Lil Wayne would go into slumber mode then as soon as they said action he would turn right back into a machine..." Hit the jump for a video of Urban Spin from QD3 talking about his work ethic, and why he's isn't supporting the documentary no more. Thank me later.

Paradise | Hawaii Edition

Photobucket
Sketch Dan | Waikiki, Hawaii

I was just listening to KiD CuDi and this song came up called "Muai Wowie" some of you might know the song, and some of you may not. Anyways, in the song he seemed to be talking about how great Honolulu was to get this "Muai Wowie," so I looked up Muai Wowie and found it was some of the best weed in the world (haha, somewhat surprising), and I found out that Hawaii was the newest state in the United States so I figured I might as well just see some pictures of it to see what all this hype about this place was. And this is the amazing pictures I found. Hit the jump for more.

Here it is fam, the just another video that shows the great talent of Mr. Hudson & KiD CuDi creating a track called "Everything Is Broken," also recently I found a video of someone recreating KiD CuDi's "Day 'N' Nite Crookers Version" (The one with the du du du du du du dun dun dun dun, haha) using Ableton Live 8. He did a damn good job of it too, hit the jump to get the peek.

Be Amazed.

Simply Artistic

In the film, Kanye plays himself drunk at a club acting belligerent and boastful, telling starstruck club-goers that the song playing in the club is his. He wanders into a side room where he encounters a beautiful woman. They start having sex and then he passes out on her leopard print dress. When he comes to, he finds himself in the VIP room with his pants down – he was hallucinating and fucking the pillow. The realization startles him and he rushes to the bathroom where he vomits what look like rose petals.

Then it gets weird.

Kanye finds a bowie knife in the bathroom and cuts into his stomach, spilling a torrent of more petals. He digs in the knife deeper and then with his hand rips out a small furry rodent, like a demon, only its quite cute. When Kanye realizes it’s connected to him with an umbilical cord, he pulls it hard, ripping it out of him for good. He then puts the demon on the sink and hands him a tiny bowie knife to fit the critter’s scale who then uses it to commit hari kari.
At first when I watched the first 2 minutes I was like WTF is this? But, then as I stated to watch it more I looked at the film in a more artistic way and thought this was such a dope short film. I'm glad I watched this I think Kanye & Spike Jonze (the director of this and Where The Wild Things are) did a good job. *tips hat* Special Props to the homies at 2DopeBoyz.

Off That?

I don't know why I am posting this mostly cause it's Diddy and he usually has a good opinion on things like this (the Auto-Tune trend). Anyway comment on what ya'll think.

"I'm Out for Presidents To Represent Me..."

jay-z

This is simply, just a classic record. But that's only 50% of why I wanted to post this. The other 50% is cause I wanted to test out this new plug-in I installed into the HTML (the bones/muscles of the site)... and the result? A brand new fully customizable player. Check it out above by playing the track.

Ryan Leslie's Transition Album Cover x Tracklist

Well well well, I have to say I wish R. Les got a little more promotion in this world but, anyway I can't pretty hyped about his album. His music is fresh and bring originality. Make sure ya'll cop Transition on November 3rd. Hit the jump for the tracklist.

Lupe Fiasco's "Fire" Live

After seeing the first stop of Jay-Z’s tour at Penn State on Friday, I drove back to Morgantown, WV and made it in time to see Lupe perform at an underpromoted fraternity Step competition Sprite was sponsoring on campus. Here’s a video I took on my iPhone of Lupe performing his new joint “Fire”; he gives a minute-long intro explaining the track and what it has to do with MTV’s recently released 2009 Hottest MCs List. I believe this is the first time he’s performed the track.

My man Lupe, you deserve to be on that list (so does KiD CuDi)! Anyway, I think that this is good for Lupe cause it's going to push him to do better music. Now this song right here I think is Fire itself.

Young Money Goes Worldwide

Apprently, according to the homies at 2dopeboyz... Lil Wayne is releasing Carter IV and Rebirth as a double-disc on December 15th... the same day as the Young Money album. Wow, I wonder who's gonna win the which CD sells out first bet. Below is some comments I thought was interesting off of the 2dopeboyz comment box about this. Thank me later.

Carter 4 yo? Hmmm….this is interesting. It seems like Wayne is trying to get more music out before Drake hits the world with his debut album. Let’s hope it’s some quality music.
- Mike Dreams (2DB)

I doubt it will happen..if so..expect dopeness. Alot of the recent rebirth leaks were actually dope. Hope Carter IV wasnt rushed is gonna be like C1/C2/C3 Leaks.
- Jaywall (2DB)

Daamn, cash money is a machine and although i don’t like birdmans music he has built an empire and young money is about to do some big things. btw that song that played during the 1st video that said something about “you can take me out the ghettooo but…” sounded DOPE. looking forward to bootlegging birdmans album lol, that drake album is gonna be craazy. and im excited for C4/Rebirth and that Young Money Compliation should be interesting…
- Vancity (2DB)

Enjoy the Light

This track is hot. Period. Apparently, there is a video somewhere on the wide web that I missed so I'll post that on Saturday cause I don't want to waste the beautiful artwork above these words. Thank me later.

Kanye West's Glow In The Dark Book

THIS IS THE PHOTO BOOK FROM THE GLOW IN DARK TOUR. NABIL CAPTURED THE EXPERIENCE LIKE CRAZY! WHEN I LOOK AT THE PHOTOS IT BRINGS ME RIGHT BACK TO THAT TIME! IT’S VERY EMOTIONAL FOR ME BECAUSE I DIDN’T WANT TO HAVE TO TOUR BUT MY PAIN BROUGHT MY GREATEST CREATION TO DATE. THANK YOU TO EVERYBODY WHO CAME TO THE SHOWS AND EXPERIENCED THIS MOMENT IN TIME WITH ME!
– Kanye West

I don't know about ya'll and how much ya'll hate Kanye by now but I heard the tour was FIRE! If I was rich enough to reach the price point ($50) then I would get it. Anyway, check out a couple pictures I uploaded from his site.

Somebody Lied

Somebody LiedKing Reign feat Richie Hennessey produced by Rich Kidd
Spotted on "Legends League Blog"

I had a bad day but for some reason (personal ones), and I spotted this song while I was just making my way through the bookmark bar, going to different site. This song sort of expressed my day, like I was looking at my day in one way, but their is always two sides to a story. Story of my life.

Don't Play With Fire

I thought I heard this song like 4 months ago... oh well, apparently this is a response The Hottest MC's in the Game list from from the horrible judges at MTV. I'm sorry but you have Gucci Mane on the list and not KiD CuDi!? MTV basically killed the game right there and then. Anyway, hop on the link and download before the link gets expired. Thank me later.
Lupe Fiasco's Fire

"I Want to Tell Stories That People Can Relate to..."

“At the end of the day, one of the biggest things I’ve been toying with on Thank Me Later is that it’s kind of hard for me to come out and be like, ‘I’m still the underdog,’ ” Drake told Mixtape Daily. “I can’t rap about the same things [as I did] on So Far Gone, so it’s just really trying to tell the greatest story that’s never been told, which is the story of a rapper’s come-up, and tell it without being corny or over bragging or sounding like, ‘Feel sorry for me.’ It’s going to be a very interesting record because I’m really going to have to dig deep and tell stories that people can relate to. But it’s kind of hard, because my life is at a very different place now.

“I’m excited for next year, and I got some great records coming out with people too,” the #3 Hottest MC in the Game added. “I got little projects on the horizon that I’m doing just for the people, to give people the free music that I’ve been known to give. I’m just going to keep up with being Drake. That’s it.”

By “free music,” does Drake mean he’ll be doing another mixtape?

“Yep, definitely a possibility,” he said with a chuckle. “I’m working every day, and I know the requests. I get all the requests like, ‘Oh, we can’t wait to hear you and Jay spit together, and we need another mixtape.’ I mean, I listen to the people, and there’s just consistent requests that come my way almost every day or every other day. With that said, sometimes you have to listen to them and give them what they want. So, that’s my goal.’

I really don't know what to expect with this album to be honest. I like how with every mixtape he has gotten deeper and deeper and deeper with the emotion in his music. But, I do notice that when most people go mainstream... they tend to lose that feeling and emotion in their music. Some people still got it, in my opinion. Like... Jay-Z's "Reasonable Doubt", "The Blueprint", and especially "American Gangster". Maybe KiD CuDi's Debut "Man on the Moon: The End of Day." Or a clear example is how Lupe Fiasco went from his first album to his second Album "The Cool" which is very noticeably darker. Even Lil' Wayne's "I'm Me." But that's just what I am saying. Comment and Thank me later.

Flashin' Lights Lights Lights...

When I started this blog about 7 months ago I was expecting it to be a blog I rarely updated like almost one post a month but now it's evolved into a place that people can look at for the latest in hip-hop news, old jams from back in the day, even discover artists that might become their new favorites. This is great and all but this time I want to make a blog/site that was more personal and how I can communicate with my followers better than just text. And what a better way than a "video diary." Ryan Leslie has one... Joe Budden has one, what about the creator of "that downtown kiid?" Anyway the link is HERE, and soon I'll be purchasing the domain so it won't be such a long thing to type. I will be posting every week on a certain day, since I post everyday on "that downtown kiid." Follow the new site & comment. My Lust for Life.

"When The Bigs Try to Get at Ya..."

I was talking with my friend Addison today before our science class talking about dance like the Reject or the Jerk, and I just remembered I watched this music video yesterday. I especialy love the 00:26 mark where Snoop does that cruising thing, haha. Anyway, enjoy.

Good Times...

Like iTunes shuffle is an amazing thing, as all you followers have noticed for the last like 5 posts, they have all been old music I used to listen to when I was like 9 or even 11. Well, anyway this was one of them and I thought this was worthy of posting since we all haven't heard from JT in a long time. Thank me later.

The Sunday Edition v.2 | Ryan Leslie

For this week's Sunday Edition of that downtown kiid I chose to post Ryan Leslie's Self-titled album cause I just he is one of the greatest producers/R&B singers in our "new era" of music. You guys probably know that song "Addiction" by him and didn't know who it was produced by or who sung it. Well it was Ryan Leslie. I think he is also creative and gives me a burst of energy when he sings. But, one thing that has always struck me was his connection with his fans and how much he loves them. On this website ryanleslie.com he talks and thanks his fans, and has even a video diary of his life for us to watch and get to know him better. Anyway check out his bio below and tell me what ya'll think. Thank me later. Hit the jump for the bio.

"You Ever Been in Love Before?"

I am so mad at myself for never posting this before. I Love this song. One of my favorite songs since I was 9 I think. I'm not gay but you got to know when to take it like a man. I mean plus this video got Lauren London. I mean if you hate the song at least admire the fact that Lil Wayne's Baby Mama is in this. That's just my perspective.

I'm On To The Next One

Just felt like putting this up real quick before I head out to Harlem for the day. Enjoy and Thank me later.

Just a Reminder

Just a reminder about "L.A.S.E.R.S." going to be released on December 15, 2009. Don't forget!
Background Info

"Fiasco was originally going to release his triple album, Lupe Fiasco's LupE.N.D. as his third and final record, but his contract with Atlantic Records prevented him from retiring with this agenda. He then postponed LupE.N.D. indefinitely and intended on releasing an album tentatively titled The Great American Rap Album in June 2009. Instead, the album was also postponed and he announced a new album was in the works, originally titled We Are Lasers and then changed to Lasers. Lasers is an acronym for "Love Always Shines Everytime Remember 2 Smile"."

On Other News...

"Though no working title has been confirmed for the album, it is said that the set will be released on November 23rd. Details are still sketchy regarding Rihanna’s new album, but a new confirmation has just been brought forth by Play.com that the set is slated to be made available in stores on November 23rd later this year. Notwithstanding the release date, working title for the record remains in question. Rihanna, who has had a rough year after she was assaulted by ex-boyfriend Chris Brown during an argument in February, has been working on her new studio album for quite sometime. She keeps things related to the record under tight wraps, but it is widely believed that she has enlisted the help from some top notch musicians for the set.

The All-American Rejects’ vocalist Tyson Ritter, record producers Stargate, James Fauntleroy, Christopher “Tricky” Stewart, The-Dream, Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, Kanye West, OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder, Soulja Boy, Shontelle and Pharrell Williams are all rumored to make contribution to the album. Most recently, Ne-Yo shared with E! News during 2009 MTV Video Music Awards on September 13th that he and Rihanna had been in a songwriting session. “Expect an edgier, almost angrier Rihanna on this one. Rihanna says some things on this album that you’ve never heard her say before,” he revealed. Fellow music star Akon also uttered some words about Rihanna’s upcoming album, saying “I’m going to lighten her up. I don’t want an angry Rihanna.”"

Speaking of Rihanna and Chris Brown... Ghostface Killah was on Hot97 (NEW YORK STAND UP!) talking about it, check it out below. Ghostdini: Wizard of Poetry in stores now.

Ryan Leslie's Transition Album Cover

Interesting album cover. Very different what the other one was... what ya'll think?

"Sooner Or Later It All comes Crashing Down..."

Everyone I show this song their like "Oh My God, how come I have never heard this song before?" Well it's cause you haven't heard of the amazing N.E.R.D. and since my friend Addison wanted me to do a post about them cause he loves them so much like I do. I decided to do a post on them with one of their greatest songs. Sooner or Later. You may also known them for "Everyone Nose (All the Girls Standing in the Line for the Bathroom)." Thank me later. P.S. N.E.R.D. is Pharrell, Chad Hugo, and another guy... also known as the The Neptunes with one extra guy.

Down

Well, I was chilling at my friend, Xxavier's house and we where blasting music then this came on. And I had never heard it before so I was like "What song is this?" and he said Down by Chris Brown and I was like how come I had never heard this song beofre and surprisingly I like it alot so check it out. Opinions anyone? Comment and Thank me later.

Drake's So Far Gone

NOTE: If it says it's only going to play 30 Seconds it's lying.

Ok, since I for some reason just fell in love with this mixtape all over again after going into Drake rehab for a couple of weeks (no I am not gay). Anyway since I was bored and it's a weekend I decided to upload the whole album to imeem for you guys... even though some songs are being sketchy. Just click the box of the song you want to play if it's unchecked an press play. Gracias and Thank me later.

Breathe...

I know I have been posting soooo much music but I couldn't miss out on this one. Plus it's basically the standout song on his album "Universal Mind Control" which is actually surprisingly good but oh well. Enjoy and Thank me later.

The Sunday Edition | Kanye West

Well, I was just thinking about how good and original Kanye West is when he is not interrupting people in the middle of their acceptance speech. Anyway, Kanye is such a inspiration to me when it comes to killing it in the studio so here is one for the road Kanye. Thank me later.

The Glory

Imagine the glory and pride Lupe has just standing up their and preforming, doing his thing since the record company didn't push his single "Shining Down." Yup, you didn't know that right? Well, I was at the concert actually and he said that the record ditched him and his team and isn't pushing his single to the radio or trying to pay for everything even after all the success with "Superstar," and "Hip-Hop Saved My Life." Even after he had a #1 album "The Cool" which was everywhere. Man, gets me mad, Anyway enjoy the slideshow from the Concert in NYC (My Hometown) @ Governor's Island (which I went to).

"Took A Pic on My Camera..."

The Drug and Ain't No Sunshine, my personal favorite track from Theophilus London's mixtape titled "This Charming Mixtape." Sounds simple right? Well Brooklyn-born and raised artist THeophilus London is FAR from simple. Trust me. If you think these sound like average tracks from a rapper that isn't signed at all (and isn't planning to be), then you and that downtown kiid have a problem. For the mixtape, check out the link below. Thank me later.

The KiD CuDi Section

So when I do these dedication post thingy's theres a difference. People have been asking me what's the difference between a Section & Spotlight's. Spotlight posts are when I focus the post on a NEW artist that I like or find interesting. A Section is when I start posting about a artist that is signed to a major label and is on their way to stardom... or faildom (hopefully, stardom).

Well anyway, to the point KiD CuDi is my HERO. I truly honestly hated KiD CuDi when I heard "Day 'N' Nite" cause it was a cool song and all but it got old and I didn't feel he showed any originality. So when the album came out and I looked at the iTunes review (expecting to see 2 1/2 for like every review) but, surprisingly I saw 5 Stars all across the board. This was REALLY surprising to me. So I listened in to some of the song's and I loved it. It was great. It was original, new, classy, and he actually HAD a story to tell. I though this album was so good that I had to get it right away. So I got it have been listening to it since. Non-stop. Repeat. Seriously.

Therefore, I think that KiD CuDi needs and deserves the Section of the Month. Congratulations KiD CuDi. The "that downtown kiid" team has your back.

As you can see below I have uploaded some songs (don't ask how long it took), and has the songs that I love to I think are OK (from top to bottom). For example, CuDi Zone would be my favorite of the favorites, and Hyyerr would be the least favorites of my favorites. Anyway Enjoy and listen.

This Video's A Little "So Far Gone"

I really don't know about this video. Like, I like that they had LeBron in it and everything but most of video felt confusing like Drake's verse in the video had multiple layers of him saying his verse on screen while flames where going straight up in the air. Or like Kanye's verse which had blaring sparks and flames flying everywhere in the background. I am not saying the video was horrible but I am saying it was so distracting you couldn't focus on the track. Anyway, what's your opinions?

Fear

I seriously have baggin been' on Drake for the past 3 weeks since he got all famous and what not. I think it's cause I've known him since Degrassi and when he came out with his first mixtape "Room for Improvement." I have been their for "Comeback Season" and "So Far Gone" but I feel when he got famous... he just lost his respect to me. Like I am definitely happy for the guy but, this guy has been around for 4+ years (music wise) and now you guys are JUST realizing he is a great rapper it just gets me mad. Plus the fact that he is taking this all in with so much pride like he is brand new. Well this song to me is apology to all those faithful to him since he was a 14 year old on Degrassi. Thanks Drake. Apology accepted.

Flashback Post│The Frosty Posse

This is seriously my favorite commercial of the year. The video below is the Behind The Scenes.

I think this deserves to be the Flashback post of the month obviously cause of the epicness of their angel-like voices. Anyway, enjoy this amazing commercial and the making of it. Thank me later.

We Must NEVER Forget!

"Thats a french ass name, Yvonne!"
This is truly the best video on YouTube... cause their are lots and lots of videos on YouTube but this right here is classic. From the C to the C. This is also one of the really rare MadTV funny videos, like lets be honest here. Saturday Night Live must get 3 times the amount of viewers that MadTV gets. Well, anyway enjoy on of the funniest moments on TV & Internet streaming. By the way.. the guy is actually a girl acting as a girl in real life.

KiD CuDi's Day ‘N Nite (Crookers Remix Video)

In April of 2008, directing duo BBGUN - Alex Bergman and Maxim Bohichik - directed the original Day ‘N’ Nite video for an unsigned Kid Cudi with a budget of only $250 of their own money. Since then, BBGUN has directed music videos for artists including The Roots, Fabolous, J. Cole, and Busta Rhymes.
This is guy who directed his first video? I hated the first video, he has really stepped his game up since then... practice makes perfect.

"Welcome... to the Future"

I was listening to Jay's 'The Blueprint 3' and I came across this song... I know what your thinking. What's so great about this song? Listen closely to the synths and be amazed by Timbaland's creativeness.

Beats Solo

These are the Dr. Dre's new Beats Solo which I am actually really happy their coming out... why? Cause their about $200 cheaper than the regular Beats. The Beats Solo will be available in black and white, and go on sale from November. They’ll be priced at around $219.99. I always wanted a pair myself... so check it out, look below for more details.
New Addition to Popular “Beats™ By Dr. Dre™ Headphone Line is Lightweight, More Compact Option; Available in Black and White Versions

BERLIN–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Monster and Beats by Dr. Dre, today announced an exciting new development in the evolution of the popular “Beats™ By Dr. Dre™ headphone line – the on-ear “Beats Solo” headphones (MAP: $179.95, SRP: $219.95). The new Beats Solo high-performance headphones offer users an ideal entry level Beats by Dr. Dre personal listening experience in a lightweight and smaller version. Beats Solo will be available in November 2009 in both black and white versions.

Noel Lee, the Head Monster, noted: “When Monster teamed up with Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine for Beats™ by Dr. Dre™ headphones our goal was to change the way people experience their music by simply letting them hear what musicians recorded in the studio – with the extreme clarity, deep bass and full power that had been lacking in conventional headphones. Thanks to Beats, people have begun to understand that sound really does matter. Now, with the introduction of Beats Solo, we’re thrilled to make the Beats by Dr. Dre from Monster experience available in a smaller, lighter on-ear headphone.” Mr. Lee continued: “There were significant challenges in the creation of Beats Solo, including how to achieve really great sound from a small speaker driver. This required serious innovation and creative audio engineering. We were also challenged to take the familiar Beats design and morph it into something smaller and more compact, yet still recognizably ‘Beats.’ I’m delighted to say that we rose to both these challenges – the result is one of the easiest-to-use, easiest-to-wear and best-sounding headphones ever created, with a look that is pure Beats and pure Dr. Dre.”

Jimmy Iovine, Chairman of Interscope Geffen A&M said: “For Beats Solo, Dre and I worked along with Monster to create the best sound possible in light, comfortable but powerful headphones.”

To provide users with the ultimate in convenience and performance when used with today’s portable music devices, Beats Solo headphones feature “ControlTalk,” an advanced on-cable feature that provides users with full control of their listening experience when using their 3GS iPhone®, iPod® shuffle and other new iPods and portable music devices. The special Monster ControlTalk™ headphone cable features an integrated high grade microphone and answer button and allows users to access their music and answer phone calls without having to reach into their pocketbook, backpack or pocket.

In addition to its availability with Beats Solo and all Beats by Dr. Dre headphones from Monster, including the new white version of Beats Studio and Heartbeats by Lady Gaga from Monster, the ControlTalk feature is also being made available as an option with all Monster brand headphones as well.

The ControlTalk remote and mic are supported by iPod nano (4th generation), iPod classic (120GB), iPod touch (2nd generation), and iPhone 3GS and newer, but not all, Blackberry models. The remote is supported by iPod shuffle (3rd generation). Audio is supported by all iPod models. Requires software version 1.0.3 for iPod nano (4th generation), 2.0.1 for iPod classic (120GB), and 2.2 or later for iPod touch (2nd generation). Support for Blackberry varies by model. Subject to change.
