Thoughts On My Mind | Like A Star

Photobucket

These past couple of weeks in my life have actually seemed to calm down just a bit. I mean I'm doing everything that I was before but, now it's just... calm.

School has been ok, I mean I really really love my advisory, I think even more than my section (9F). Like, it's weird though because everyone in my advisory is aware we are all so different but when were all in the same room together we all just are comfortable with who we are. For example, Star this girl in my advisory is really uiet has and a small group of friends, and that's cool don't get me wrong but when she gets in advisory she seems really comfortable talking to all 11 of us in the advisory at once without shying up. Or Alisa who is one of the coolest people I've met in a while, is sort of the more popular person. She's friends with a lot of people in the school but stills talks to all of us with respect and doesn't act as if she is superior to us (I hate those type of people).

Me and Alisa an have got to know each other a lot better since the beginning of the year but it always seems like I don't know her when I see her in the halls, and it's not even because she acts different. It's just... I really don't know, haha. Like when were not together in the same room i'm just someone you say 'hi' to in the halls but, when we are in the same room together or like having a conversation, it's different. Not implying anything but just saying. I think that me and her are going to have some sort of special connection in the future (I mean who knows?).

As for my music career... A LOT has happened since I last posted but since I don't feel like boring you readers today I'll just keep it brief. Me and I-CON (Jake, my friend and soon-to-be signee) are getting in the studio next saturday a lot more musically educated thanks to MC Sa'id (big-time beatmaker/producer). He wrote The BeatTips Manual, a 400 page book with all the information in the world to be successful in the music industry and to be an icon in beatmaking specifically. We had an hour conversation with him on the phone and I think I learned like 200 pages worth of text in every like 2 sentences he said cause the conversation was that interesting and informative. If you want check him out, go to BeatTips.com and/or BeatTips2.com. Don't forget his son's site to (which is actually really informing) at Amir13.com.

By the way, the East Coast Action website is almost done. If you want the sneak peek CLICK HERE.

Food For Thought

Amazing picture I found on Flickr of the NYC skyline.

The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost
"Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."

Simply Artistic

In the film, Kanye plays himself drunk at a club acting belligerent and boastful, telling starstruck club-goers that the song playing in the club is his. He wanders into a side room where he encounters a beautiful woman. They start having sex and then he passes out on her leopard print dress. When he comes to, he finds himself in the VIP room with his pants down – he was hallucinating and fucking the pillow. The realization startles him and he rushes to the bathroom where he vomits what look like rose petals.

Then it gets weird.

Kanye finds a bowie knife in the bathroom and cuts into his stomach, spilling a torrent of more petals. He digs in the knife deeper and then with his hand rips out a small furry rodent, like a demon, only its quite cute. When Kanye realizes it’s connected to him with an umbilical cord, he pulls it hard, ripping it out of him for good. He then puts the demon on the sink and hands him a tiny bowie knife to fit the critter’s scale who then uses it to commit hari kari.
At first when I watched the first 2 minutes I was like WTF is this? But, then as I stated to watch it more I looked at the film in a more artistic way and thought this was such a dope short film. I'm glad I watched this I think Kanye & Spike Jonze (the director of this and Where The Wild Things are) did a good job. *tips hat* Special Props to the homies at 2DopeBoyz.

"You Ever Been in Love Before?"

I am so mad at myself for never posting this before. I Love this song. One of my favorite songs since I was 9 I think. I'm not gay but you got to know when to take it like a man. I mean plus this video got Lauren London. I mean if you hate the song at least admire the fact that Lil Wayne's Baby Mama is in this. That's just my perspective.

I'm On To The Next One

Just felt like putting this up real quick before I head out to Harlem for the day. Enjoy and Thank me later.

On Other News...

"Though no working title has been confirmed for the album, it is said that the set will be released on November 23rd. Details are still sketchy regarding Rihanna’s new album, but a new confirmation has just been brought forth by Play.com that the set is slated to be made available in stores on November 23rd later this year. Notwithstanding the release date, working title for the record remains in question. Rihanna, who has had a rough year after she was assaulted by ex-boyfriend Chris Brown during an argument in February, has been working on her new studio album for quite sometime. She keeps things related to the record under tight wraps, but it is widely believed that she has enlisted the help from some top notch musicians for the set.

The All-American Rejects’ vocalist Tyson Ritter, record producers Stargate, James Fauntleroy, Christopher “Tricky” Stewart, The-Dream, Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, Kanye West, OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder, Soulja Boy, Shontelle and Pharrell Williams are all rumored to make contribution to the album. Most recently, Ne-Yo shared with E! News during 2009 MTV Video Music Awards on September 13th that he and Rihanna had been in a songwriting session. “Expect an edgier, almost angrier Rihanna on this one. Rihanna says some things on this album that you’ve never heard her say before,” he revealed. Fellow music star Akon also uttered some words about Rihanna’s upcoming album, saying “I’m going to lighten her up. I don’t want an angry Rihanna.”"

Speaking of Rihanna and Chris Brown... Ghostface Killah was on Hot97 (NEW YORK STAND UP!) talking about it, check it out below. Ghostdini: Wizard of Poetry in stores now.

"Took A Pic on My Camera..."

The Drug and Ain't No Sunshine, my personal favorite track from Theophilus London's mixtape titled "This Charming Mixtape." Sounds simple right? Well Brooklyn-born and raised artist THeophilus London is FAR from simple. Trust me. If you think these sound like average tracks from a rapper that isn't signed at all (and isn't planning to be), then you and that downtown kiid have a problem. For the mixtape, check out the link below. Thank me later.

Kanye on The View

Kanye West is such a good guy when it comes down to the bottom of it, his only problem is he has such a big ego. But I feel bad for him that his mother dyed and all, that was a sad time. Check out the video above!
