This Ish Was All I Knew

The big man and Wheelchair Jimmy just came out with the visuals with a new single named "Say Something," I remember hearing this song on the radio and just automatically noticing those the up and down of the synths. The beat is pretty Timbaland I have to say though that the synths are dope, and Drake's verse is just ok, nothing special. But, I have heard better production wise from Timbo so in the end I think it calls for a TDK rating. This conclusion is taking the beat, the lyrics, and the orginality into play. My "that downtown kiid" song rating conclusion for this song: 8|10, based on the fact that Drake did have a impressive hook that's actually catchy and even has meaning which I admit is hard to find now a days in and out of the radio. Also the beat I appluad, but unfortunatley the verses not so much. So it's above average just not stellar.

"I Want to Tell Stories That People Can Relate to..."

“At the end of the day, one of the biggest things I’ve been toying with on Thank Me Later is that it’s kind of hard for me to come out and be like, ‘I’m still the underdog,’ ” Drake told Mixtape Daily. “I can’t rap about the same things [as I did] on So Far Gone, so it’s just really trying to tell the greatest story that’s never been told, which is the story of a rapper’s come-up, and tell it without being corny or over bragging or sounding like, ‘Feel sorry for me.’ It’s going to be a very interesting record because I’m really going to have to dig deep and tell stories that people can relate to. But it’s kind of hard, because my life is at a very different place now.

“I’m excited for next year, and I got some great records coming out with people too,” the #3 Hottest MC in the Game added. “I got little projects on the horizon that I’m doing just for the people, to give people the free music that I’ve been known to give. I’m just going to keep up with being Drake. That’s it.”

By “free music,” does Drake mean he’ll be doing another mixtape?

“Yep, definitely a possibility,” he said with a chuckle. “I’m working every day, and I know the requests. I get all the requests like, ‘Oh, we can’t wait to hear you and Jay spit together, and we need another mixtape.’ I mean, I listen to the people, and there’s just consistent requests that come my way almost every day or every other day. With that said, sometimes you have to listen to them and give them what they want. So, that’s my goal.’

I really don't know what to expect with this album to be honest. I like how with every mixtape he has gotten deeper and deeper and deeper with the emotion in his music. But, I do notice that when most people go mainstream... they tend to lose that feeling and emotion in their music. Some people still got it, in my opinion. Like... Jay-Z's "Reasonable Doubt", "The Blueprint", and especially "American Gangster". Maybe KiD CuDi's Debut "Man on the Moon: The End of Day." Or a clear example is how Lupe Fiasco went from his first album to his second Album "The Cool" which is very noticeably darker. Even Lil' Wayne's "I'm Me." But that's just what I am saying. Comment and Thank me later.

Drake's So Far Gone

NOTE: If it says it's only going to play 30 Seconds it's lying.

Ok, since I for some reason just fell in love with this mixtape all over again after going into Drake rehab for a couple of weeks (no I am not gay). Anyway since I was bored and it's a weekend I decided to upload the whole album to imeem for you guys... even though some songs are being sketchy. Just click the box of the song you want to play if it's unchecked an press play. Gracias and Thank me later.

This Video's A Little "So Far Gone"

I really don't know about this video. Like, I like that they had LeBron in it and everything but most of video felt confusing like Drake's verse in the video had multiple layers of him saying his verse on screen while flames where going straight up in the air. Or like Kanye's verse which had blaring sparks and flames flying everywhere in the background. I am not saying the video was horrible but I am saying it was so distracting you couldn't focus on the track. Anyway, what's your opinions?

Fear

I seriously have baggin been' on Drake for the past 3 weeks since he got all famous and what not. I think it's cause I've known him since Degrassi and when he came out with his first mixtape "Room for Improvement." I have been their for "Comeback Season" and "So Far Gone" but I feel when he got famous... he just lost his respect to me. Like I am definitely happy for the guy but, this guy has been around for 4+ years (music wise) and now you guys are JUST realizing he is a great rapper it just gets me mad. Plus the fact that he is taking this all in with so much pride like he is brand new. Well this song to me is apology to all those faithful to him since he was a 14 year old on Degrassi. Thanks Drake. Apology accepted.

"Welcome... to the Future"

I was listening to Jay's 'The Blueprint 3' and I came across this song... I know what your thinking. What's so great about this song? Listen closely to the synths and be amazed by Timbaland's creativeness.

Legendary Music Producer No I.D. talks about Drake

"It's like growing a tree... if you don't grow the roots low enough, the wind blows the tree over... but if you grow the roots to much, the tree don't grow high enough and then it dies or you just don't see it"

Just Amazing

Drake has definitely recruited himself a bunch of basketball players big chested, flexible women for his team. 1:20 mark… says it all. And I couldn’t stop laughing at Trey Songz & Fab’s Craig & Smokey impression at 3:13, lmao. I just thought that was gold! Directed by Kayne West.
